About Philip

When he was a kid, Philip would climb onto the roof of his grandparents’ Central Florida home to watch the Space Shuttle blast off. “Someday,” he though, “this will make a great intro for the About page of my website.”

Actually, it was pretty inspiring, to grow up between the Kennedy Space Center and Walt Disney World—exemplars of technology, innovation, and imagination. The fact that he was also also surrounded by multiple forms of wildlife that eat him alive was also not lost on him.

He studied Communication and Drama at Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL, the oldest European settlement in the country . After college, he produced TV ads for the Jacksonville, FL market. His clients included year-round Christmas stores, muffler shops, BBQ restaurants, and a private investigator.

In May 2001 he moved to New York City—because he’s known for good timing. Philip helped launch storied online grocer FreshDirect, where his work included creative direction, graphic design, video production, copywriting, and wearing a lobster costume. He also served as Creative Operations Manager at Blue Apron and as head of creative for Baldor, a top NYC wholesaler. He has collaborated with dozens of brands and agencies along the way.

Philip has also pursued many other professional and creative avenues. He has directed over 20 stage plays (including in the Edinburgh Fringe), acted in many others, directed and shot video and film productions and other productions.

A trained voice actor and voiceover artist, he may be heard in several ads and productions.

He lives in Manhattan with his wife Dana and their 100-pound hound dog. He enjoys tropical drinks and playing the guitar.

On his honeymoon, he was charged at by a wild silverback gorilla.
